Pair of Speckled Stoneware Pasta Bowls in White Blush Blue Glaze Made in USA
These two serving bowls were hand thrown and trimmed on my potter's wheel using a rich specked stoneware clay. They were then bisque fired and glazed with transparent white glaze that has a blush blue hue that allows the dark speckles of the natural stoneware to come through. They were then fired to cone 6 in my electric kiln.
For months I searched the internet to find a clay that has this depth of speckling in it. This particular clay comes from Canada, and while it is more costly than the local clays I use, I believe it's worth it to be able to make special pieces like this.
Approximate sizes: 6" wide across the top and 3.25".
